Day 342 – CRAFT CORNER DEATH MATCH: Fishwives

CRAFT CORNER DEATH MATCH!!

THE THEME: FISHWIVES

I was so so excited about this theme. Fishwives are awesome, historically, they were sassy loudmouths who cuss. A lot. THIS ENDEARS THEM TO ME.

For this theme, there are three other competitors:
The Harpy!
Yermits!
Sarah Apple!

To see all the entries go to Craft Corner Death Match!

Day 322 – Lobster Bot

I don’t have much to say about this one, except LOOK AT THIS TERRIFYLY GIANORMOUS LOBSTER. Now you never need to sleep again.

Day 312 – Stingray Bot

Sometimes, the bots are tricky to photograph. Here’s another view:

and, just for completeness sake, here is the underbelly/mouth:

So, I was cruising around the National Geographic website looking at dinosaurs, when I found myself looking at GIANT FISHES. GIANT FISHES gets capitalized because those things are freaky weird. The giant catfish in particular has ensured that I will never, ever set a toe into water that I can’t see through. I don’t care if it supposedly doesn’t eat people, IT TOTALLY COULD ANYTIME IT DECIDED TO.

Anyway, onto stingrays. Look, this one is so big you could ride it like a magic carpet across the waves. Also I touched a stingray once and it was soft like velvet.

Day 305 – Jumping the Shark Bot

So… I guess this means the bots are going downhill from here, folks.

I hope you are looking forward to Day #306: Silver Bot, Day #312: Robot bot, and Day #322: Stereotypical Robot a Day Bot.

Day 263 – Barrel Bot

This bot’s training to go over Niagara Falls.

Yes, I admit it. I’ve been watching Wonderfalls again. Hence the barrel bot. And I’m pretty sure, after intense scrutiny, research, and watching both their complete works, that Bryan Fuller rocks slightly harder than Joss Whedon. Pushing Daisies really clinched it for Fuller. Look, I’m sorry, but Bryan invented a pie maker. THAT BRINGS THE DEAD BACK TO LIFE. Top that, Whedon.

Day 248 – Puffer Fish Bot

Watch out for those spines! They contain a deadly computer virus!

I’ve always wondered why evil geniuses and villains don’t have a big moat full of giant mutant puffer fish as a defense. I mean, COME ON. Who would want to mess with an eight foot round puffy fish whose bite turns you into a zombie kills you?

Day 216 – Snowglobe Bot

I love the human compulsion to make teeny tiny replicas of things. I think I’d have gotten along really well with the person who thought up snowglobes.

Day 214 – Shark Bot

Even though I grew up in a landlocked area, nowhere remotely near the ocean, I was totally terrified of sharks. Specifically, I was convinced that it was only a matter of time until sharks figured out this whole walking thing, and came for me in the middle of the night.

As an adult I’m more concerned about surviving a zombie apocalypse.

Of course, now I’m wondering if sharks can become zombies, and what that means for my nocturnal land shark theory. eeep.

Day 202 – Turtle Bot

I’ve been desperately trying to think of something to say about turtles that doesn’t involve them being ninja, teenage, or of a mutant variety, but I give up. Being a child of the eighties, I’m pretty sure I’m hardwired to associate turtles with these things.

The hardest part was high school art class.
